A Day of Action

Colossians 1:9-14

[one_half] No tricks today, just a faithful reminder that we are not alone on our journey of faith.  Ancient words speak into our lives as we remember one of the key goals of the spiritual life; to be filled with the knowledge of the will of God through spiritual wisdom and understanding.

What would that be like for you?  Have you been praying and asking God to reveal his will for your life?  Or perhaps you have been seeking greater wisdom and understanding of the ways of God for your journey.   Either way, the outcome involves the bearing of fruit and the strength to endure.  Some days, we simply need to endure so we can make more space for fruit to grow in our lives. [one_half last=last] The New Testament often uses the image of the vineyard as a way of teaching a spiritual truth.  We have lessons about pruning, caretaking, investing, and abiding that all grow out of the metaphor of a grape vine.  But in the Book of Colossians the ability to bear fruit comes directly out of our actions.  So today is a day of action.

What will you do today to know more about the will of God for your life?  And if  you know the will of God for your life, what fruit would  you be demonstrating in your life? [/one_half]
