We’re Happy to Answer Your Most Frequently Asked Questions

Visiting a new church is exciting. But it can also be confusing. Most of all, everyone has questions they want to ask. Where do I go for worship? What do you offer for children? How do I get involved in mission and ministry?

These are all great questions. So we’ve created some helpful videos that answer the most popular questions. Below the video section are answers to most other questions that new visitors ask. If at first you don’t see an answer to the question you’re asking, please call our church office at 303-841-3979.

How do I make a prayer request?

Because prayer is a such powerful tool, we offer many ways to connect through prayer:

  • Blue prayer cards are located in every pew and black Friendship Pad. After filling out your card, place it in the plate during the offering. You may also hand it to one of our ushers. This is a great option if your request is not confidential.
  • Email your prayer request to Randy Jessen, Senior Pastor, or  Cody Anderson, Associate Pastor. Since these go directly to our pastoral leadership, it’s one of the best ways to keep your prayer confidential.
  • We’ve recently created our very own Parker UMC App. It just takes a few clicks to submit a request. Search Parker UMC in your App Store or Google Play to download. Confidential and non-confidential options are available.
  • You also have the option of submitting a prayer request right here by clicking on the linked text.[/toggle]

Where is Children’s Sunday School?

We offer Sunday School for ages 3 through 5th grade. Most of our children’s classes take place upstairs. Little Blessings, our church preschool, uses the classrooms during the week. As a result, the class spaces are very inviting and kid friendly. 4th and 5th grade meet downstairs next to our choir room.

Please bring your kids to worship at our 9:30 and 11:00 services. They’ll be present for the first part of service, until the kids message, then they’ll go to Sunday school. In addition, a greeter will be happy to answer any other questions you have.

Where Do I Go for Worship?

Our worship center is located downstairs on the north side of the building. Enjoy a free donut and coffee (lemonade for the kids). You may also enjoy a chat with friends and visitors between each service.

What Should I Wear?

We want you to be comfortable at Parker UMC. Because the Methodit Church is home to believers of all different backgrounds, members, visitors and guests wear a wide range of “dressiness.” Jeans are fine and so is a suit or dress. Please wear what makes you most comfortable.

How do I reserve a meeting room?

Faith based groups should stop by the church office or email a detailed request for meeting space to cindy@parkerumc.org. Groups that are not faith-based need to review and fill out a building usage agreement. In addition, some of these groups may also pay a small fee, and for any recurring events be sure that Parker UMC is included as a rider on their insurance policy. All of the necessary forms are available at the church office.

How do I submit an article for the Church Newsletter?

Cross and Flame, our newsletter, is published quarterly (February, May, August and November). This informative publication is available in several formats: printed copies are available at the church office and welcome desk, and it’s available on our website and via the Midweek Message email the week it publishes. Therefore, it’s a great way to connect with our staff and learn more about upcoming events. Getting your article published is easy.

Please submit your article at least two weeks before the publish date. Be sure to include all information for your group or events that will take place in the quarter featured in that publication. Articles can be emailed to office@parkerumc.org The staff may review and edit submissions for content and space needs.
