A COUPLE OF THINGS TO REMEMBER FOR SUNDAY!

Bring Forth Your Commitment Cards This Sunday

The students have been learning about why tithing and a commitment to the church is important. Last week each of them received a commitment card to bring home and pray about.  This week youth are given the opportunity to bring that card forward (we’ll have extra).  This week we will learn that if they receive $20 a month then 10% of $20 is only a $2 a month commitment.  A great place to start as youth!  And since we don’t have Sunday School on the first Sunday of the month, then Communion Sunday is a great day to place their tithe in the offering plate.

Did you know the youth budget is funded by the general budget?  What is a general budget? Where does it come from? And what is it used for?  Click here to read more about last Sunday’s lesson, so you and your youth can be on the same page for very important discussions.

Ladies & Daughters – Did You Know…..

Did you know that simply being female and a member of our church automatically makes you a member of the UMW (United Methodist Women)?  Congratulations – you are!  Wouldn’t it be great to flood the annual UMW Bake Sale with help from our youth families?  If you can, please bake something and donate it for the UMW Bake Sale on November 19th.  You may bring items to the church anytime today or Sunday morning. Please put them in the kitchen and label them for the UMW bake sale.  Items will be sold in between services on the 19th.

Events, Sign Ups and Surveys!

A Youth Family Event!

Finally a time to come and meet, socialize and spend time with other parents of our youth!  The first ever Youth + Family Easy Mission Event!  Expect some jamming Christmas music all through the church to help get you in the holiday spirit.  On Sunday, November 26th at 4:00 we will all meet in the Narthex for the hanging of the greens. Soup, Salad, Dessert and a holiday devotional will end our fellowship time together.  Click here to sign up to help with the dinner.

Youth Sunday Drama Sign Up

Yes, it’s time again to prepare for a Youth Led Sunday!  Students will be participating to help run the entire service at 8, 9:30 and 11.  We’ll need greeters and ushers, singers and this year a drama team!  No lines to memorize, as it will all be set to music.  Both boys and girls needed.  If your student is interested in being a part of this powerful message, please sign up here, so I can begin communicating with the team.

We Would Like to Hear Your Thoughts!

We’d like your participation in a short survey about how our church is doing. We’d love to hear from you because together, we are the Body of Christ. And together, we are visioning for the future! Please click here to take the survey now. If you’d rather take the survey at church we will have laptops available between services this Sunday and next. If you have any questions please email [email protected].

Changes to the Green Calendar

If you have a green calendar at home, please make the following changes.  On December 9th I had scheduled a Parents Shopping Day as a fundraiser for youth, please mark that off, as our fundraiser for the year will be in February.  Please add: on Sunday, Dec. 17th we will be hosting the Welcome Home Breakfast for our college-age youth and their families from 10:30-11:30 in the Fellowship Hall.  Please watch for more information regarding this event in our upcoming emails.
