Sewing Classes Help Young Women in Haiti Earn Employable Skills

We are helping Respire Haiti Christian School in developing the girls’ sewing program.  As many of you know, most of the children who attend Respire are orphans, many living in slavery.   It is crucial that the high school girls learn a marketable skill for employment before graduating!

We are raising money to assist the sewing program.  The high school girls who chose to join the sewing program stay after school to learn this skill.  They are paid a modest Haitian salary to learn.  Once they graduate, they can apply for a micro loan to purchase a sewing machine.   Please consider donating to this very important cause, employing the students of Respire, as they learn the employable art of sewing!

If interested in helping, please make checks payable to Parker UMC, and write Respire Haiti in the memo.  THANK YOU!!

We also have 4 spots left in our October mission team to Respire Haiti.  If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity to serve, email WendyWhite at [email protected].
