There are a lot of wonderful things happening around here at Parker United Methodist Church, and it is exciting! We are just coming off a huge year in children’s Sunday School where we saw an increase in children from the previous years. We are coming off our largest Sunday ever for children’s Sunday School. Vacation Bible School is going to add another week of fun for our preschool kids and kids with special needs. Our preschool has added two new classrooms this year, and registration for next year is already filling up. The youth are preparing for a new youth minister. And that is just what is going on with the children!!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
When we pray, God will listen… and when we seek him, we will find him! What an amazing promise to hold onto during this time! As we celebrate all of the good that are happening around here, we also need to be mindful of the future and what God may be calling us to do. Now is a wonderful time to be in prayer for our church and the ministry that God is calling us to do! Will you join me in prayer for our congregation? Pray for the youth and for the new youth minister, that their hearts would be open to what God is going to do! Pray for the children’s ministry and the preschool, that God would guide us to new and exciting ways to reach children and their families. And pray for our congregation, that we would be open to what and where God is calling us. May we be open to all of the amazing things that God will do in our midst!
