Wednesday of Holy Week

Hebrews 12:1-3

[one_half] The last thing we want to do in this week is to lose sight of the Lord. There are lots of preparations for the Sunday meal, the time of family worship, and visits from friends. But there is another task at hand as well. It is a spiritual task of giving thanks for all those faithful folks who have gone before us. It is about continuing to run the race far beyond the secular finish line. It is about enduring because Jesus as the great High Priest was able to press on and not lose heart or grow weary. [/one_half]

[one_half last=last] When I think of the great cloud of witnesses, I think of my family and friends who have gone on before me. I think of the pastor who introduced me to Jesus. I think of all the faithful people who have lifted their hearts and voices to pray for the church. I think about persecuted believers and those who have paid the ultimate price for their faith. It is a great privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in that long beautiful line of faith.

Above all, let us stand! [/one_half]
