A Prayer For the Church

Philippians 1:1-11

[one_half] Join us tonight at 6:00 in the sanctuary for an hour of prayer, study, and encouraging conversation.  We will be focused on our readings for the past week.  Be sure to bring your questions to share and your smile as well!   Child care is always provided with joy!

I love to pray for our church.  I pray for our leaders, for our mission, for our worship together, and for our ministry to all people and all age groups.  It is a joy to join you in your prayers for our church.

Today, I want to join in partnership with the Apostle Paul.  That is a bold thing to do but I think you will understand.  I want to join in Paul’s prayer for the saints.  He was praying for the saints (the believers in Christ) who happened to be in the region of Philippi.  I want to join in his prayer but I want to shift it particularly for the saints (the believers in Christ) who are within the reach of the Parker United Methodist Church. [one_half last=last] If I may, I would like to borrow his prayer word for word on behalf of all the believers who worship and serve at the Parker United Methodist Church.

“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.”  Amen

Grace and peace to you from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ! [/one_half]
