By the time you are reading this, Advent will be over and Christmas will have come and gone. I sure hope that both were wonderful for you all!
A few highlights since the last time I wrote to you –
Tapestry’s Christmas Eve Service was held at Lincoln Meadows Senior Living Center. We feel privileged to be able to bring worship to the wonderful people there, especially for those who are not able to travel out to go to worship. I am always blessed by being in service to the Lincoln Meadows folks and hope that we can do the same again.
Since we were not planning to take a Christmas Eve offering, Tapestry dedicated their entire December 13th offering to missions. Tapestry purchased 36 of the 500 sleeping bags that, working in conjunction with AfterHours Denver and St. Andrew UMC, are being given away to the homeless population in Denver’s Civic Center Park. We also sent a Tapestry team down to Civic Center Park on December 19th to work with AfterHours in handing meals out to the homeless.
I am so happy to see the Tapestry family coming together to live out our faith as we serve those who are in need of compassion and in turn allow them to teach us lessons in perseverance, gratitude, and humility.
Looking forward –
The Sermon series from the beginning of 2016 up until Easter will highlight the basics of the Christian faith as outlined for us by the Apostle’s Creed. Feel free to join us for some or all of these important subjects.
Tapestry Dates for the coming months:
Worship at the Wildlife Experience – 9:30am on January 10th, January 24th (this is a change), February 14th &28th, March 13thand 27th
“The Loom” discussion group at Caribou Coffee – Every Monday night at 6:30pm we talk about various topics relating to spirituality. This is not a Bible Study. This is an open safe place to discuss a wide range of issues and questions that might help along the spiritual journey. Not everyone who attends is Christian, so be ready to hear some different opinions on things.
All are welcome!
The second half of 2015 has been an incredible beginning for a new faith community that continues to amaze me as we continue to seek out ways to make a difference in our world. I can’t wait to see all that 2016 has in store!
Have a Happy New Year!
