Hello Parker UMC family!
Just a brief update from Tapestry to let you know how things are going across town.
Tapestry is still worshiping twice a month, on the 2nd and last Sundays of each month over at the Wildlife Experience. I am pleased with how the folks are beginning to weave together and feel the sense of community that we are trying to build. God willing, we will have more people joining us for worship over the coming weeks and months. I want to thank those of you who have referred your friends and family to us. Keep it up!
On the third Sunday of each month, we gather for our Service Sunday. We postponed our gathering in January to the beginning of February and were truly blessed to be able to assist the ministry of AfterHours Denver again. In December, we purchased 36 sleeping bags for them to distribute to the homeless. This time, twenty-three of us gathered at my house that Sunday morning to assemble 60 sack lunches of PB & J sandwiches, fruit cups, granola, and some other treats. The following Tuesday (the day after the big snow storm), a couple of us took the lunches and a few cases of water bottles to Civic Center Park and passed them out. We were also able to bring a few bags of hats and scarves that were knitted by some of the PUMC women. They were greatly appreciated! We are all looking forward to getting the chance to help AfterHours again in the coming months.
Finally, we will be worshiping at the Wildlife Experience at 9:30 on Easter Day. Please continue to pray for us and this ministry as we reach out to the people of Lone Tree and west Parker to offer them a place to worship and to belong.
God bless! Pat Bell
